Photos and Places

I enjoy traveling with my camera. Previously I've been shooting with a Canon and particularly like their 100-400mm lens for wildlife. More recently, I have been experimenting Sony's micro four-thirds and liking it very much.

Tintagel

Tintagel

Off the Atlantic coast of Cornwall, Tintagel has the remains of a medieval fortification, a castle long associated with King Arthur. It is where Arthur is supposed to have been conceived, or so says Geoffrey of Monmouth.

Milton lived in this 16th-century cottage in Buckinghamshire after 1665 when he was escaping the plague in London. Here he completed Paradise Lost.

Hortus botanicus, Leiden

Founded in 1590, the Hortus botanicus in Leiden is one of the oldest botanical gardens in Europe. The greenhouses and grounds incorporate many trees and plants from Asia, including Southeast Asian orchids, or pictured here, the Malaysian national flower, the hibiscus.
